The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) has revealed that 3,963 teachers who took the November 2023 Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) did not pass the test.
Prof. Josiah Ajiboye, the TRCN Registrar, shared this information during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja.
The PQE, designed to evaluate teachers’ professional knowledge, saw a total of 15,753 participants across 38 centres nationwide.
Out of this number, 10,636 teachers passed, representing a pass rate of about 72.9%.
Unfortunately, 3,963 teachers did not meet the required standards.
Ajiboye also highlighted that some candidates were absent from the examination, while others faced result cancellations due to malpractices.
