A group of South Korean students has taken legal action against the government, seeking compensation of 20 million won ($15,400) each after their college admission examination concluded 90 seconds earlier than scheduled.
The premature bell affected the entire exam, prompting the students to demand compensation equivalent to a year’s study for a retake.
Although the mistake was acknowledged, the students were only given back one and a half minutes during the lunch break.
However, they could only mark blank columns left on their papers without changing any existing answers.
The lawsuit alleges the error disrupted their focus, impacting results.
